6. PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE Our educational programs are constructed in a way that effectively combines academic theory and practical experience, which is necessary to film making. There are very few film schools that have such a rich/broad practical program. Your studies will not take place only in the classroom, but more importantly on a film set.
7. PROFESSIONALISM You and your peers will receive support from a professional lighting and sound crew. During the course of directing or cinematography studies you will create many projects on 35mm film. In the current digital age this is an exception, for which reason many students from around the world come to study here in Lodz.

For this reason the school is equipped with the latest equipment-- we build new studios, we invest in a professional team. Our latest purchase was the ARRI CineAlta High Definition film camera (after our previous purchase of the ARRI III 35mm) to be used for creating diploma films.
9. PORTFOLIO AND PROMOTION Our students’ films are always present at all national and international film festivals. Not only Gdynia and Kraków, but also Berlin, Toronto, Cannes and contests within the American Academy Awards. These festivals have become an arena of success of the young talents of Lodz. For half a century, the £ód¼ film school has been one of the best recognized schools in the world, and each new award proves its lasting prestige. The number of films you will create during your studies will give you an impressive portfolio, which you would not be able to receive at most other schools.
10. INVESTMENT IN YOUR FUTURE For the effort put into passing the entrance exam into the Directing Department, you will receive the opportunity to live an unforgettable adventure and make at least six serious films- fictional and documentary from 10 to 45 minutes long (not counting smaller exercises). 11. BRILLIANT LOCATION £ód¼ is a 19th century city built by Poles, Germans, Jews and Russians- the promised land of many generations. The spirit of those times is present.
