THE 18th INTERNATIONAL FILM AND TV SCHOOLS' FESTIVAL

MEDIASCHOOL ' 2011

We would like to inform you that this year, from 26th till 29th October, the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School (PWSFTviT) in Łódź, Poland and FILMS Foundation with the support of the Mayor of the City of Lodz and the Office of the City of Lodz is organising the

     18th International Film and Television Schools' Festival "MEDIASCHOOL 2011"

1.      Mediaschool 2011 accepts films made on both video and film, intended for television presentation.

2.      The films entering the Competition must be officially chosen by a given Film/TV School or a Film/TV Department. Each school should make sure that the films being sent to the Competition represent high humanistic values. The films sent by individuals will not be accepted.

3.      There is no selection for the Competition.

4.      The number of films sent from each school is not limited but their length should not exceed 35 min. in total.

5.      The films should be supplied to the Festival on BETA-SP video cassettes or miniDVs, both only in PAL system. 
 DVDs in any formats are NOT acceptable at all.

6.      The postage costs to the Festival are covered by the participants whereas the return costs are born by the Festival.

7.      All the participating films must have English subtitles.

8.      All the films must have been completed after 1st January, 2010

9.      Films that have been awarded prizes at other festivals are still eligible.

10.  The screening copies (Beta SP, PAL cassettes, or miniDVs PAL ) accompanied by the entry forms (49 KB pdf)  should reach us by 1st September, 2011.

11.  The packages should be sent to the following address preferably by EMS, DHL, or TNT couriers, cleaerly labeled and addressed either to: PWSFTviT - MEDIASCHOOL 

12.  When sending the Beta cassettes/miniDVs from outside EU, please fill in the pro-forma invoice sheet  USD (50 KB pdf), EURO (50 KB pdf) provided declaring the total value of the cassettes/miniDVs of no more than 10 - 12 Euro, or 10 - 12 $ US, and enclose it together with the cassettes.

13.  The Festival programme:

Festival opening 26 October

Festival screenings 27-28 October

Festival closing 29 October (Saturday evening)

14.  We provide board and lodging. The participants must cover their own travel costs.

15.  The International Jury will award the following cash prizes:
Grand Prix, II Prize, III Prize

·        The participation in the Festival means that the participating body agrees to a single broadcast of the whole film on Polish Television and is a declaration that the copy rights had not been previously sold to a third party.
